Task Analysis

Task Analysis
What the term means:
“Task analysis is used mainly to investigate an existing situation, not to envision new products. It is used to analyze the underlying rationale and purpose of what people are doing: what are they trying to achieve, why are they trying to achieve it, and how are they going about it?”(Preece, Yvonne, & Sharp, 2015)

Reflection on the Topic

1.      Task analysis is the way to analyze the tasks to make sure it meets all standards before products are actually made. It is testing and analyzing information so that products can be as good as it could be.
2.      “Task analyses can be useful in designing instructional programs for complex tasks”, “useful when teaching others how to complete a skill that has multiple steps” (Snodgrass, Meadan, Ostrosky, & Cheung, 2017)
3.

My Thought

“The information gleaned from task analysis establishes a foundation of existing practices on which to build new requirements or design new tasks”(Preece et al., 2015)
“an umbrella term that covers techniques for investigating cognitive processes and physical actions, at a high level of abstraction and in minute detail.”(Preece et al., 2015)
